Workout Still Going Well!

9:40 am Random News

So I realized that I haven’t given any sort of update on my workouts for a while, and I needed a topic to write about today that I guess that one will have to do!

So I recently started a new 4 week phase.  This one is based more on increasing strength, and it’s been pretty interesting so far.  The funny thing is that as I look back and what I used to do in the gym when I first started, I was clueless.  I’ve made more progress in the last 2 months or so than I did in the first 2 years that I went to the gym.  It’s amazing how learning the right ways to do things can make that kind of difference!

The one concern that I have is that in a couple weeks I know that my schedule is going to get even more hectic, so I’ll have to find a way to still get to the gym on top of everything else that I’m doing.  I guess it all comes down to time management and priorities!

It’s a good idea to build up strength, that way you can move more weight and in the long run you’ll actually bulk up better because you can force your body to do more work! Good luck with the program!

Cool congratulations man! I go through spurts too where I am very motivated, and then others where I just have to grind through it. Time management (especially since you need sufficient sleep!) is definitely a challenge while working out for me as well.

Good luck.. perhaps you should try one of the home fitness program. That would save some time at least.

I feel you on the time management front, man! I have been between two gyms recently that has made me a little bitter about gyms all together. I hate that I got involved with a contract with one gym just because it was closer to where I live. I should have just stayed with the month to month gym I was with before. In the meantime, I will just run around the backyard and play on the swingset I purchased for my kid last year. That’s a good work out as well. Good luck!

I have been in between two gyms lately. WHy did I sign up for that one that takes contracts??? DOH!
In the meantime, until my bitterness simmers, I have been playing with my kid on his swingset we put in the back yard. Kids are a great work out!!

It is funny how clueless most people are when they first start working out. I know exactly what you mean.

Stick with your workout, even if its hard when things are hectic. I had a friend who told me he worked out every single day because he was afraid that when he stopped he would never start up again. I cant tell you the number of times I’ve said “I’m too busy, I’ll just work out tomorrow.” and never do!

I’m glad you’ve found your focus in the gym. Sticking to a program is a great way to stay motivated and accelerate your returns. We’ve all seen or have been those people at the gym who don’t really know what they’re doing or why they’re there. It’s the same for joggers who never pick up the pace — I swear I can keep up walking to most of them! You gotta have drive, direction, and that sweet, sweet goal in mind!

great to hear that you have that kind of determination. I tried working out on a consistent basis a few months back but i ended up getting fatter instead of getting slimmer and bigger ;/

it’s great that you feel that you’re getting something out of your workout. that’s exactly the kind of stimulus which helps to make going to the gym more of a priority. hope i can start doing this soon as well.
