What Would I do in Bangkok?

12:04 pm Just Random!

Ok, time for another random post: what would I do if I was able to take a trip to Bangkok? Honestly, I think I’d do some sight seeing of the really cool Asian buildings. First on my list would be the Grand Palace. I don’t know what it is with Asian style buildings, but I’ve always thought they were really really cool. I’ve always wanted to visit some Asian country just to check out the architecture, and the stuff in Thailand is really really cool.

So if I were to go anywhere in Bangkok, that’s where I’d go.

By the way, if you’re looking for a cheap Bangkok flight, check out dialaflight.com!

I think I would like to make it a goal to see all of the Buddha statues I could! That goal would probably take me to many noteworthy places that I might otherwise miss.

There’re lots of things to do in Bangkok if you make it there - cheap and delicious food (tom yum soup etc), great budget shopping, friendly locals and who can forget the durians and mangos…

A buddy of mine came back from Bangkok with a little pouch full of Thai sticks. He said they were just tobacco, but I smoked one with him and wasn’t right for like 3 days.

It didn’t do anything really profound–I didn’t have a trip or anything like that–I just felt ‘off.’ I always wonder what was in those things.

You know, I’ve been there once and stayed at Holiday Inn Bangkok and it was such a wonderful stay ! Everyone was so polite and everything was so neat and in place and it was just a wonderful stay ! And the food was simply great ! I didn’t manage to get to the Grand Palace though .. but I did go to the Flea Market ! Great stuff you can find there !

The food is without a doubt the best part of Thailand. Thai people will always ask “Have you eaten?” so food plays an important part of their culture. Check out the Grand Palance and the temples. There is a temple near the palace that is covered in shards of ancient ceramics (pots, dishes, etc…). also - I’d recommend going to Chiang Mai in the north. It is simply beautiful to be int he mountains and the air is crisp. While there. You could go to the Doi Sutep temple on the top of the mountain there.

Phuket is also beautiful to go to the beach. Phang Nga Bay is the place where you can see all of the unique rock formations out in the sea and go to some of the remote islands.

    Have fun if you’re going!!

Thailand is one of my favorite countries in Asia. Be sure to ride in a Tuk-Tuk, take a Tuk-Tuk Boat ride and eat ONLY Thai food, especially Thom Yom Krung soup!

I am in Beijing right now and thought that it would be exotic like Thailand, but it’s not. Bangkok blows this place away.

Go to the Tiger Temple. You can do it on a day trip and visit the floating market in the early AM.

The Buddhist monks take care of tigers there from when they are kittens. You can sit there with a tiger and have your pic taken with it laying it’s head across your lap.
