Watching Lost Season 1 Again

8:29 am Movies, TV and Music

Jack and Sayid from LostAfter getting caught up to Season 4 (the current season) of Lost, my wife and I decided to go back and start watching it from the beginning again. Granted, we’ve only been through a few episodes, but knowing what I know now it’s been pretty interesting watching it from the beginning again. Here is a list of things that I’ve realized so far:

  • I’m glad they killed off Shannon. She was just annoying!
  • I still don’t like Michael, even from the beginning I didn’t like him, and watching it over again I still don’t like him!
  • I wish they’d finally answer what the smoke monster is. That’s one of the mysteries that I’m really interested to find out the truth about.
  • Locke is really interesting even from the very beginning. I still like his character.
  • What about the ’sickness’ that they talk about in the first couple of seasons? Was that just a left over from the gas that the Others used to wipe out Dharma? Or is it a road they decided to just let die in the story?
  • Who were the two dead people they find in the caves?

Needless to say, I really like this show. I’m excited to see where they take it from here with all the flash forwards and things! Do you have any other questions you want answered?

I love this show but I am not sure if I can keep waiting forever and ever to see how it ends. I love that now, instead of showing the past, they are foreshadowing the future

I think ‘Lost’ will go down as one of the greatest TV action/suspense/dramas ever. It’s nice to watch something that makes you think, rather than talking ‘at’ you.

When I first started watching Lost it was already in season 3, so I had to catch up through DVD’s and online. Being able to watch multiple episodes of this show was one of the most amazing things ever, and it is absolutely agonizing to have to wait a week (or more!) for a new episode to come out.

A show like this is highly addictive, so I can see why you would go back to the first season.

Question for you though, are there any crazy allusions in the first season that nobody would ever catch unless they had seen the rest of the show? I’m interested to hear just how far ahead J.J. had this plot planned out.

    Hey Kyle,

I’ve noticed a few little things, but nothing that I would call a major allusion. At least not yet, but then again we’ve only watched the first 4 episodes so far!

I got lost when watching lost going into the second series. All seemed to get a bit too silly and dragged on, I did like it though just got a bit fed up of it.

I’m going to re-watch the show from the beginning once it has finished and see if the producers actually had it all planned out from the start.

I’ve read that some people think that the skeletons are Desmond and Penny - in a time/dimensional sense, it would be cool if it ended up back on itself like that!
