The Regret of Selling a CD

6:04 am Movies, TV and Music

CD Identification by Jeff Wheeler, FlickrI used to have a pretty good collection of CDs. I was a member of BMG and would buy a CD every couple of weeks. Then I started to realize that I had a bunch of CDs but only listened to my favorites, while a bunch of others just sat there un-played. So what did I do? Well, I sold a bunch of them. Sure seemed like a great idea at the time, and I think I needed the money anyway.

So here’s what always happens when I do this: maybe a few months or a few years will go by and then I’ll hear a song that was on one of those CDs that I sold. Then I’ll think to myself, “Man, that’s a good song! I wish I still had it! DOH!”

I swear this has happened to me more times than I can count. It’s funny how when you have something you don’t give it much attention, but then once you’ve gotten rid of it you wish you hadn’t! It’s also funny how this applies to so many other things in life…but I’m not going to go all philosophical today about that.

Yeah I have a bunch of CDs I have stacked away in the attic. Great thing nowadays is you can whack them all on the hardrive, its just a massive slug to download them all to the PC!

well you can use`em to decorate your rooms, like i did.

or turn your room into a CD library, by sorting the CDs by the artist, or year, etc.

I can relate. I was planning on moving so before I sold my house, I had a yard sale. Ended up selling all my DVD’s and music CD’s off. ALL of them! I wanted to move with as little as possible and kind of start again from scratch. Well, I ended up not moving and now I have no CD’s! LOL!

I am the same way. I couldn’t tell you how many cd’s I’ve owned and then sold for quick cash, only to regret it later.

I was JUST talking about this very thing with a friend this weekend. I now am thinking about buying the CD or download from iTunes the many albums I once had. Great for the artists, I guess.

Same here I’ve bought from Columbia House before. I think I have a collection of 250 CDs in a shoe box, I got ridoff the cases. And I’ve been thinking of selling them.
