The Incredible Hulk Review

8:28 am Movies, TV and Music

So last night my wife and I finally saw Incredible Hulk (Widescreen Edition).  I’ll say this, it was definitely better than the other Hulk movie that came out a few years ago.  That one was lame.

This one was definitely better.  The storyline was better, the action was better, but I’m not sure that the acting was much better.  I mean, Edward Norton is a great actor, but it seemed like this part was kinda flat.  Granted, he was probably told to play it that way, but I felt the character of Bruce Banner was a little weak in this one.

That and I thought Liv Tyler was kinda whiney throughout the whole thing.

I still liked it, but there are a few things that could have been much, much better.

i’m glad to hear that it was reasonably good. I just picked it up yesterday actually.

Reasonably good is a good description for it. It’s not one that I’d want to own, but it was alright. Way better than the last one though!

I thought about going to see this in the theatre but just couldn’t bring myself to it. I also hated Ang Lee’s version of it…it was a complete waste of 2+ hours and $100m.

I really like Edward Norton, so I trust him to pick good projects. Rumor has it he’ll be appearing as Hulk in the new Avengers movie as the villain. Would be pretty cool.

If he is going to be in The Avengers he wouldn’t be the villain. In the comics I’m pretty sure he was one of the original members of the Avengers.

I’ve only seen the first hulk. I didn’t think it looked that great, but the second one looked pretty tight.

Second one is way better than the one that came out a couple of years ago.

Well, I think we have a different taste :) In my opinion Ang Lee’s version was better than this one. Obviously for general fans the latest Hulk movie is better because it offers so much more action and less acting/directing. Contrary to what Ang Lee did several years ago.

Wow, you’re the first person that I’ve heard say that they liked the first one more than the recent one. But hey, that’s fine!

I heard so many bad reviews of the first Hulk movie I skipped it altogether. I know that cgi special effects are considered “all that” these days, but I still like the old school Incredible Hulk TV show with Lou Ferrigno and Bill Bixby the best!

The old TV show was awesome. Lou makes an appearance in the move.

I like the movie, it was far better than its predecessors but it didn’t live up to the hype.

I agree. I was expecting more, but I wasn’t completely disappointed. Still much much better than the last one.

My son (9) and I were pretty disappointed in this flick. We both thought it focused too much on the love story aspect. Of course, coming out of a summer with Iron Man, The X-Files, Hancock, and Dark Knight, there was bound to be one that we didn’t care for, and compared to those above, The Hulk just couldn’t compete.

I do agree, however, that it was better than the others. Just not good compared to what were other GREAT movies. IMHO, of course.

Agreed, but then when you look at the Hulk character in general, he’s really not as cool as most of the other ones anyway!

Ed Norton does a good job playing Bruce Banner. However, the original played by Lou Ferrigno was pretty good as well. Lou never got any speaking role in the Hulk. Had he not played the role the Hulk, many suspected he would have won that ever elusive Mr. Olympia title.

    Dan Reply:

that’s a definite possibility. It could be that being on TV didn’t allow for him to train like he needed to in order to win that title.

Yes, previous movie was better than this movie. So, there was lot of expectation from this movie.

Incredible Hulk is a very good movie and is continuously getting popularity.

To me the hulk should be played like a jackle and hyde story. Because that is pretty much what it is. Which is why the tv show is still the best. Although the last movie wasn’t bad.
