The Paris Buffet

As I’ve already mentioned several times, I was in Las Vegas last weekend.  Now, Vegas is known for a couple of things, but one thing that I think is really worth going down there for is the good food!  I’ve eaten at a couple of restaurants down there and they’ve all been fabulous.

So on Saturday me and the guys I went down there with decided to go and eat at the buffet located in the Paris Casino.  Wow was that some good food!  I had some crab legs, prime rib,  sushi, pastas, and all sorts of other stuff.

It’s funny, because on Thursday before I left my wife and I went with her grandparents to a local buffet called Chuck-a-Rama (I’ve wondered since I was a kid where they came up with that name…).  Talk about a night and day difference!

So when it comes to buffets, do yourself a favor and only eat at the ones in Vegas.  At least, that’s my advice!

Do Some Golfing in Vegas!

I was in Las Vegas last week for a blogging conference (Blog World to be exact) and wish that I would have had time to do a little golfing while I was there.  But unfortunately I didn’t…

One of the cool things about going to Vegas is that there are lots of Las Vegas Golf packages available at really good deals.  There are a lot of really nice golf courses such as Bali Hai Golf Club, Desert Pines Golf Club, and Royal Links Golf Club.

Of those listed above, I think that the Royal Links club looks the nicest. If you go to their site you’ll see some of the building that they have, some of which look like castles!

A great way to get golf packages is to go through Walter’s Golf. They have a Tour the World package that let’s play all three of the courses mentioned above for a really good deal. Maybe next time I go to vegas I’ll check these guys out more closely!

The Mouse Wanted to Fight!

Every now and then at work (once a week actually) I do a webinar presentation.  When I do these I don’t do them at my desk, but I go across the office to another secluded desk where there is less background noise so the presentation is better.

So yesterday I’m doing my presentation when all of a sudden I look down and there’s a little field mouse staring at me!  Well, I didn’t really want to kill it, so I just stomped at it in surprise to make it go away.  I figured this would make it go back to it’s little hideout and I could get back to my webinar.  Not the case…

This thing kept coming out and staring at me!  And at times it would actually act like it wanted to fight!  It kept trying to stare me down, peeking around the corner of the cube or showing up under my feet like it wanted to sucker punch me.  Not cool.

At one point I actually put the class on pause to try and catch it.  No luck.  Then I just told everyone that I had allergies and had to clear my throat.

Half way through the presentation I have an intermission, so I grabbed one of my bosses to see if he could help me catch it, but the mouse was no where to be found.  He then accused me of ‘crying mouse’ jokingly, but that sneaky little thing wouldn’t show his head again!

I’ve had very few encounters with mice, but this one really surprised me as to how bold the little guy was!  Maybe I should have squished him…but I didn’t want to have to clean it up.

Awesome New Mr. T Ads!

I heard on the news that one of these ads was banned because they thought it was offensive towards gays.  WHATEVER!!!  The ad is making fun of speed walking as a sport, which I think most people make fun of anyway!  So here are two of these ads.  Gotta love Mr. T!!!

One of the Best Burgers I’ve Ever Had!

So last night my wife and I decided to go to Chili’s.  We had a gift certificate that we haven’t used yet, so we figured why not.

Now honestly I haven’t been to Chili’s in quite a while, and in the past I’ve just thought that they were ok.  So this time I decided to try one of their burgers and I ended up going with the Jalapeno Smokehouse Bacon Big Mouth Burger.

IT WAS SO GOOD!

I’m a big fan of Fuddrucker’s, but this burger I think rivaled that even.  The bacon on it was really thick, the jalapenos were more flavor than they were spice (just how I like them), and just had a great flavor to it!

So if you’re in the mood for a burger, either go to Fuddrucker’s or get this Jalapeno Burger from Chili’s!

Why So Serious?

I hate clowns…I really do.  But I loved the new Dark Knight movie!  So just today I was stumbling some stuff and came across this image.  Pretty sweet!

Wanna Go on a Picnic?

Just today a friend of mine sent me a blog post from MyNextPicnic.com, and I thought it was a really cool idea (here’s the post if you’re interested): what you do is set a timer, start driving, and where ever you are when the buzzer goes off is where you have your picnic.

Wouldn’t that be a fun date idea?  I’ll have to try it sometime with my wife.

Honestly my wife is always interested in going on a picnic.  But we don’t really have the stuff for an official picnic.  So I might have to send her to MyNextPicnic.com for some picnic baskets and such, or maybe I’ll just surprise her and get one anyway!

I think the best thing about a picnic is just being out in nature eating some good sandwiches and having fun in the sun.  It’s a great summer activity that I honestly haven’t taken advantage of this summer at all.  Well, good thing the summer isn’t over yet!

Mathematical Proof That Girls are EVIL

Some of you have probably seen this before, and if my wife saw me posting this here she would either laugh or hit me.  But I’m willing to take the chance in order to let all of you unsuspecting guys out there know that it has been mathematically proven that girls are evil!!!

Ok, honestly I think I first saw this about 10 years ago, but it’s still pretty funny!

Tucanos

Today for lunch I went with my department to Tucanos Brazilian Grill.  Apparently this is mainly just a Utah restaurant (they only have 3 locations, 2 in Utah and 1 in New Mexico).  But man is it good food!  Another restaurant that is basically the same thing is Rodizio Grill (they only have 2 locations, one in Salt Lake City and the other in Denver).

So here’s the basic idea: you have a salad bar, and then you have guys coming around with different types of meat.  You get whatever you want from the salad bar, and then you sit at your table and whenever they bring a meat that you’re interested in, they cut some off for you.

What could be better?!  So next time you’re in Utah, check this place out!  It’s good food, no doubt about that.

Who Has Time for a Massage?

To be completely honest, I’ve never had a real massage.  I’ve had my wife give me a short massage from time to time, but I’ve never had one done by a professional.

I have had massages done by different chairs though.  Not sure if that really counts, but sometimes that the best you can do with a busy schedule right?  One thing I’ve found though is that some of those chairs seem to cause more pain than anything else.  I think this falls into the category of “You get what you pay for.”

Well, I came across some information about a bed called the Takemi Jade Vista 5000 Massage Bed. Now this thing sounds pretty cool. It uses some special infrared light and other things to really get into the deep tissues of your body. I’d love to try one of these things out!
