Starting the Year Off Right

10:22 am Random Thoughts

I don’ t know about you, but so far 2009 is already turning out to be a good year.  Things are just going well in a lot of different areas already and it’s honestly getting a little exciting!

I’m learning that a huge part of this is just my attitude.  I decided at the beginning of this year that I was going to just work having a better attiude about things, and it’s amazing how things work out when your attitude is right.

So how is your 2009 starting out?  Well I hope!

I know this is a short post, but feel free to share below some of the things that you are doing or plan on doing this year to make it a great year!

Congratulations on your success. A positive attitude can carry a person far in life.

My goal for the new year has been to become more organized. Since that is such a huge task, I am starting out by trying to simplify as many aspects of my life and schedule as possible. It’s going well so far. Each accomplishment feels like a major victory and gives me the fuel I need to keep going.

Well, it’s been 2010 long enough for a lot to happen! I have done some things well, and some very poorly. I realize that I am not that one thing I did poorly; I am everything that I have ever done! I have always been a positive, joyous person, and remain so! Life IS good!

As long as you set yourself targets and a plan outline and stick to it then you can pretty much achieve anything.

    Remember to focus.

My “main” goal is to lose fat. Not sure how much as I don’t know how much I weigh now, but when my pants get to size 34 I figure I’ll be good. Currently 44 now. Since the 5th I’ve been doing the diet part of it and things are looser. Starting tomorrow I’ll add some weight training and a little bit of cardio.

2009 has been a great year so far, I’m losing weight and getting a lot of work done on various projects that I have been putting off.

I could do with a little less snow though.

    Good luck in 2009 Dan

It’s so true that sometimes the simplest thing to change is your own attitude towards life and one that often is overlooked. Always you choose how you react to situations, it’s always worth remembering you are in control.

2009 is going to be a great year for me.

The secret to setting effective goals is to set small incremental goals that can be achieved in a relatively short space of time.

    And yes attitude is everything!

2009 feels a bit like Year Zero in terms of business ideas. It’s actually a really good year to start a business IF you have your own capital. You can start small during the recession and hopefully hit the ground running by the time the economy recovers.

I have found that I have been in a better mood this year (despite the Media) and most of it has come from producing a random act of kindness everyday. It does not need to cost money either. It may be a compliment that I know will help someone get through a day.

    Hi Dan:
Been browsing around your site - very interesting. When I got to this post I just had to comment. My New Year’s resolution LAST year was that every day would be either a good day or a great day. With a few notable exceptions, I was able to maintain that attitude and it has made my life so much better. Attitude is everything. Thanks for sharing.
