Rollerblading!

7:38 am Random News

I remember as a kid rollerblades were the hot thing to have.  I remember zipping around the neighborhood on them, playing roller hockey and all sorts of fun stuff.  In fact, I remember one year we went trick-or-treating on rollerblades and that was the year we got the most loot!

Has anyone noticed that you don’t see people on rollerblades as much anymore?  Well, now my wife and I are going to be some of those people that do have them!  Last week we decided to each get a pair of rollerblades.  This way instead of just going for a walk with the kids we can make it a little more fun.

In fact, if the weather holds out we’re planning on going rollerblading up the canyon tomorrow morning.  I’m excited to go, since I really haven’t done something like that since I was a teenager.  Hopefully I still remember some of my old ‘moves’ ;-) .

By the way, this picture is the actual blades that I got, and my wife got the girly version of them.  Pretty good price on them too!  I guess one good thing is that rollerblades are overall a lot cheaper now than they used to be!

used to be really into rollerblading but stopped about 5 years ago.

Its amazing how quickly things change .

Most kids these days prefer to play on their computers.

I definitely remember getting my first pair of rollerblades! I was so stoked! Unfortunately I didn’t really have a good place to use them. I haven’t rollerbladed in a long time now.

I bet this rollerblades will be trendy again in another few years. Remember when bikes where trendy. Well they are back in full force again. It just seems like one big cycle.

Wow, I haven’t been roller blading in like, 10 years. I think if I tried now, I’d probably fall on my face and break my neck.

Good luck to you and your wife - Hope you enjoy(ed?) your time at The Canyon.

I’ve noticed that too, but then I thought it was just me imagining stuff. Because when they were popular, I used to pay attention to anyone who was using them. You know, following their moves and trying to figure out how they manage to stay on their feet :)

I guess it was a big craze that kinda faltered a bit. Same thing happened with skateboards.

    Roller Blading?

Well its always in style at the beach but other than that, nobody does it in the neighborhood anymore.

More like a think from the past. However, it reportedly burns about 816 calories per hour.

Nice set of wheels! The kids have all switched over the those skateboards that bend in the middle now. I see a few with skates in their shoes, but no roller blades as of late. Glad you’re reviving the trend.

Are they cheaper? I see people on the beach roller blading all the time. Where have you been?? Perhaps you just haven’t been looking in the right places. At any rate, happy blading. I hear it’s a great ab work out!!

It’s quite interesting you bring this up, because just yesterday I saw someone rollerblading and I thought, “I think it’s been years since I’ve seen someone with rollerblades.” I used to do it all the time… not anymore though.

I see them often here in Copenhagen and I must admit I am a bit jealous of people who are really good at it. I am almost 2 meters and never scated either, so when a friend of mine convinced me to try I took a big dive and ever since that I stay of those things - as well as scates (is that the right name for them).
Anyway, good luch with the project- bring some good music on the head phones right?

I believe we might see a roller blading comeback with the high price of gas! It would also be good for our waistlines.

I do this all the time, and up here in Vancouver, it’s more popular than ever
