Ok, so lately it seems like I’ve been seeing a lot of movies that have to be classified in the dumb category. And Transporter 3 is one of them.
Now I have to admit that I really wasn’t expecting much when I rented this one. I’ve seen the other two Transporter films and honestly they weren’t that great. So was I expecting much from #3; hardly.
But seriously, the whole story of this one, the characters, and the lame excuses for an overly choreographed fight scene were just too much. My wife said it perfectly when she said it was good because it was dumb. In other words, they did a good job making it dumb and you just came to expect it!
Now I’m sure that some of you probably liked it. I’m glad someone did! But for those of you that haven’t seen it yet, I won’t say don’t see it. It’s silly fun if you’re up for it, but don’t expect a great movie. If you liked the other 2 films, this one fits in with them.
So I talked recently about how I’m excited for the summer (or at least May) because of the trip my wife and I are making to California. Well, back when I was growing up I was always excited for summer because each year we would go boating!
Seriously, every year for about 11-13 years growing up we would make trips down to Lake Powell which is on the border of Utah and Arizona. Great place to go for a vacation if you’ve never been.
The sad thing is that some people head down there to party and then make some really dumb decisions. For example, drinking while boating. Just like drinking and then driving a car, Boating and Alcohol Don’t Mix.
Sure, you may think that you’re safe because you’re on water and not on asphault, but you can still make some really stupid decisions if you’re boating while drinking and either kill yourself, your buddies, or other innocent boaters near you.
So please, if you’re going to go boating or anything else, be safe and don’t drink and operate a vehicle whether it be a car, boat, or anything else.
Here’s a video from the Arizona Game and Fish Department that talks about the dangers of boating while under the influence of alcohol.
May is looking to start of really well. Ok ok, I know that it isn’t even half way through March and I’m already thinking about May. Well, March has annoyed me so far and so I’m looking forward to a month that seems to be more comfortable with itself.
So the reason that I’m excited for May is because my wife and I are making a trip down to Oceanside to learn how to surf! It was her idea originally. She used to spend all of her summers in California and really misses the beach, so this was a great way to get us both motivated to go down there.
I honestly have no idea what surfing is going to be like. I’ve done a little boogie boarding before, but I wasn’t any good at it. The most water sport experience I have is water skiing behind a boat. But either way, I’m excited and it should be a lot of fun!
Every now and then I hear one of my coworkers going on about how the host they have is no good and they keep running into problems with it. I sometimes wonder if they could have made a better choice in their hosting!
That’s why I’m glad that there are sites like Web Hosting Geeks that can review and give advice on what webhosting company to use.
One thing that I really like about their site is that they also give advice for which host to use depending on what your site or project is going to be. This makes them so much better than the other review sites.
So seriously, if you’re in the market for hosting you should check out Web Hosting Geeks. They also give really good tips on their blog!
Ok, so this weather is starting to get really really weird. One day it’s like 70 degrees and then the next we have snow. Not cool!
I think my sister got hit the worst by this. She told me that one day she was taking a nap in her back yard in the sun, the next day she was freezing.
I know it’s not just this way here in Utah, it seems like everyone is having some weird weather this year. Or maybe this is normal and I just forget each year that this is how it goes. I’m not sure honestly, but it really get’s annoying. It’s like March can’t decide what season it wants to be in.
So I’ve gone back and forth with Playlist.com and Pandora.com for a while, and I can’t really in the end decide which one I like the best. Pandora has it’s uses for playing things at random, Playlist let’s you choose the songs you want to play. The only problem is that sometimes I get sick of the songs I have on my list, and don’t want to take the time to go find new songs to add!
I’ll probably go back and forth for a while, but here’s something that I’ve noticed about Pandora: it seems to get stuck in a repeat loop sometimes. What I mean is that I sometimes go along rating songs and then it just plays the same songs that I’ve rated, nothing new. I’ve also experimented with not rating anything at all, but it has the same problem there as well. Isn’t the point of Pandora to give you new music to discover?
Have you used either or both of these services? If you haven’t, you should check them out sometime. They’re both great in their own right because you don’t have to store any music on your computer, just stream it online.
If you have used either one I’d love to hear your thoughts. Which do you like better and why?
So I’ve seen or heard of this idea a couple of times in the last couple of years, especially in the news and other things. But I’ve honestly never really looked into it. It does seem pretty interesting though!
So why would you want to save your baby’s cord blood? What good does it really do? Well, what it can be used for is later in life if your kid develops a disease like leukemia, cerebral palsy, anemia, lymphoma, or diabetes. They can use the cord blood and stem cells to help them fight off these and other problems. Pretty crazy!
But of course, not all of these blood blood banks are created equally. One that looks really good is Cryo-cell. They’ve been around since 1992 and have already helped over 175,000 families to save cord blood samples.
Their simple challenge is this: compare us! In other words, compare them with a lot of the other cord blood banks out there.
Here are 5 things to consider when choosing a cord blood bank: cost (what value do you get), security, financial stability (will they be around long term), certification, and expert industry leadership.
Cryo-Cell stands out in all 5 of these categories and are worth checking out if you are going to be having any kinds soon. You can check out their current offer at their website and learn more about what they can do for you!
I know I’ve written from time to time on this blog about my health goals, fitness, and all that kind of stuff. Well, last week I bought some glutamine. For those of you not familiar with Glutamine here’s the kind of thing it can help you with:
Supplementing with glutamine can help give your immune system a boost
Glutamine can help increase growth hormone levels
Glutamine is used to help maintain cell volume and hydration
It also helps with digestive health.
Digestive health is actually one of the main reasons why we bought it. I read on a site somewhere that it can help cure ulcers. My wife had one of those last year that really messed her up, so we’re hoping that using glutamine mgiht help that whole mess heal a little bit.
Anyway, there’s a random personal update for you. By the way, if you want to find the best prices on supplements like glutamine, check out SupplementPricing.com. They compare prices for a supplement from multiple stores so you save money!
Everyone has interests, some more fanatical than others. And hey, when you’re looking for someone to date, you should be looking for those common interests as well right?
That’s one of the great things about the internet is that you can find sites that are just in the one niche that you care about. Well here’s one for you: a dating site for horse lovers!
The name of the site is Equestrian Cupid and I think the name says it all: it’s a dating/friend site for people who are into horses and all things equestrian. So if this is what you’re into, it might just be the right dating site for you.
Unlike a lot of dating sites out there, this one has a completely FREE sign-up. No monthly or yearly subscription fees. Just sign up and start finding friends that share your common interest in horses.
They are an exclusive community for equestrian singles and horse lovers to find new riding buddies, pursue the country lifestyle, discover uncharted trails, find the best riding areas from others that have the same interest, and also possibly find someone to share your country pursuits with!
They’ve been around for a couple of years and have had great success in this area. So seriously, if this is your area of interest or passion, check them out!
So for my birthday one of the presents that my wife got me was a the newest CD from Joe Satriani called Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock. This is my second Joe Satriani CD and I’m really enjoying it!
The other CD I have is Crystal Planet, which I think might be a little better than this newest album. Don’t get me wrong, they’re both really good but there are things about Crystal Planet that I like better. It’s amazing the changes after 10 years (these two cd’s were made ten years apart).
Highlights from the CD would be:
Musterion
Professor Satchafunkilus
Revelation
Come On Baby
Diddle-Y-A-Doo-Dat (except for the intro, kinda pointless and weird)
Andalusia
All of the songs are good, but I like those ones the best. So this cd was a great addition to my Satriani collection, which now amounts to a whopping 2 cds!
