Looking for Work Boots?

12:01 pm Random Reviews

I know a lot of guys out there like to wear work boots whether they’re working or not.  Good thing there are companies that only specialize in them!

I actually came across one today called WorkBootsUSA.com.  They have a huge selection of all sorts of work boots from companies like Caterpillar, Danner, Wolverine, Magnum, Timberland, and more.

It seems like not too long ago I would always see tons of guys walking around in their work boots all the time.  i haven’t noticed lately, but has that trend changed?  Any body else notice this a while back?

Well, either way WorkBootsUSA.com is a great place for work boots.  Check them out!

I use sandals if I go to office

Good call! I wish I could do that, but we have a no sandals policy. I guess too many people got annoyed with the ‘flip flap’ noise

I’m in search of a store that carries the Timberland Pro line of work boots. All I’ve found are a couple of styles here and there. Are there any work-oriented stores in the Portland/surrounding towns area that sell the line? I used to go to Work’n gear years ago, or just bought them in NH. Thanks.

Honestly I have no idea if there is a store up in the Portland area that carries Timberland Pro. Sorry, can’t help you there!

I could do with some good work boots just to wear out. I will still have a look even though I’m based in the UK. Thanks

It is tough to find good work boots that will stand up to some abuse. I tried Vasque and they were not good at all, but their parent company Red Wing stands up well to the work I do.

Thanks for the heads up. How much do ethe Red Wing boots cost?

Good find. I’ve been looking for somewhere to buy boots online for a while and didn’t like the non specialized sites like zappos.

The best pair of work boots I ever got was from a consignment shop. Usually I have a rule about buying used underwear, shoes, and socks, but had to make an exception.

Now you’ve got me wondering, what kind of boots were they?

They are called “mountain gear”. By no means name brand. But still an awesome pair of boots.

Caterpillars / Doctor Martins / Etc used to be very popular in the UK for general fashion. Not so much now - probably something to do with a lot of the actual shoe manufacturing being outsourced to other countries now rather than being made in England. In Northampton / Wellingborough / famous shoe making towns in England, people would wear them because they worked for the company, or someone in their family did, or the company sponsored their local football/rugby team. So it had a kind of loyalty following all of its own. That’s the problem about outsourcing - the brand becomes a lot more anonymous if you lose the local followings. (from someone living in these areas of England!).

I had a pair of Cats once and they really held up for a long time. I know what you mean about outsourcing though, it can give a bad image.

Work boots are great for anytime you’re going to be on your feet a lot, not just if you’re working. Thanks for the link.

Works Boots have their pros and cons. I like the steel toe versions the best. What I don’t like about work boots is the fact that they are heavy, not usually very comfortable, and hot during the summer time. For overall work, play and recreation, I’ll take a pair of comfortable running shoes any day. Cheers!

Placing a walk-off mat at the door entrance does a lot to help in reducing the damage done to carpet by work boots

I will have to check the site out. My son wears boots and has a difficult size to fit, so it is always good to find a site that offers products from multiple manufacturers. It certainly increases my chances of finding something that will work for him.

ut instead it has become the dog poop zone. Every morning that’s where all the dog owners go and let their animals do their thing. And then don’t pick it up!
