It’s Getting Hot - But I’m Glad It’s Dry!

11:57 am Random Observations

Heat wave by evinoryan88, FlickrSo I’ve been talking to a lot of different people around the country through my job, and I realize that it seems like different sections of the country are in the middle of some type of heat wave.  And of course everyone in one way or another is probably going to complain about it.  Ok, not everyone, but enough people that I feel comfortable saying everyone :-) .

Here in Utah we have already broken 100 degrees, which I think is pretty hot.  But I’m so glad that it is a so-called ‘dry heat.’  I really don’t handle humidity very well.  I remember a few years ago my wife and I went on a cruise out of Galveston, TX and the humidity there really did not treat me well.  So I’ll take the hot desert over that!

Anyway, there’s my random observation for the day.  How’s the weather where you’re at?

In most cases old people suffer from hot weather. It causes problems with their health. When it is hot, heart deseases and diabetes are most likely to happen. So be careful and don’t spend much time under the hot sun.

Here in mauritius, its actually winter. Its quite cold but we can handle the temperature. But when its summer sometimes its very hot but the temperature is nice. Many tourists visit our island for the temperature and seaside. I can imagine at 100 degrees how hot it is. but what i can say is that her in mauritius we have a nice climate.

I live in Dubai, and we dream of having a dry heat in the summer. To give you an idea, imagine the worst possible day in Texas in terms of summer heat and humidity, and live that day for 6 months out of the year.
The winter is very nice though…like spring, and makes you forget how hot & humid the summer was.

I am in Damascus this summer, and i really must say it has the nicest wheather of many cities I have seen. Urban areas on the hillsides are a cool place to spend the weekend, and the city enjoys all 4 seasons, each with moderate weather. When it snows, everyone is happy.

It is getting hot in Utah, I live in Provo. I really can’t complain though, it feels like the last winter dragged on and on. I mean, its the middle of June and its just barely starting to warm up! Humidity is nice, but not humidity and heat.

Hot weather is harmful for most of people. I can not imagine if the temperature in our place is getting hotter and hotter. So far, in my area the temperature is not too hot.

Its very hot in Los Angeles County. 108 degrees. I can’t wait to see my electric bill. Its probably cheaper to spend the day at the mall in the air conditioned stores.

Here in SoCal (Inland Empire) we’ve had a pretty hot June compared to previous years. No June gloom whatsoever this year. I think we will be in for a super hot summer. I agree that the dry heat is a lot better than 100% humdity with 100+ temps.

I also live in Dubai and our weather is consistently hot. The worst is the hot summer wind that blows through making life outdoors unbearable.

But then, we always have the shopping malls to cool down
