I’m Procratinating Big Time!!!

4:35 pm Just Random!

It’s official, I’m a procrastinator!  Here it is December 12th and I still haven’t bought any presents for my wife!

The other problem is that for other members of the family we are doing more of a homemade Christmas and I haven’t made those items yet.  Frankly, I’m running out of time!

Thankfully my wife finally got me a list of things to look at getting for her.  I struggle without a list honestly.  Then I at least have an idea of the type of stuff she would want.  There have been some years in our 6 years of marriage that I have really failed when it comes to gift giving, and I’m hoping not to repeat that again!

I remember one year we had all of our shopping done in October.  Man that was great.  I should really get back into that habit!

I am also a procrastinator! I haven’t even started buying Christmas gifts and I am definitely running out of time. Good luck on making your gifts, though, I love that people are having homemade Christmases and it is definitely practical and the safer way to go in this economy.

Procrastination is not always a bad thing - if a decision or action doesn’t need to be done early, it’s better to delay it since you will have more information in future.

I know how you feel! My wife is making my gift for the family make-a-gift party I know. That is going to cost me some serious husband points! But I do have 80% of my Christmas shopping done this year, except for the important one, hers.

She says she wants to keep under X dollars for each other’s present this year, but we tried that 5 years ago and she ended up spending more on me anyways and I looked cheap. Ugh-too much pressure for a holiday about the Savior of mankind.

We actually do a lot of our shopping online. Except this year. It’s not procrastination if there just isn’t time, is it?

Sigh. I suppose we’ll go next week. I prefer a simple Christmas with simple gifts. But it seems like the whole world is all about the buying craze.

Me and my spouse don’t give gifts to each other any more but we shop for gifts together (for our family and godchildren) and if we like something for ourselves, we bought it together. But no more surprise gift anymore :) as we always go out as a couple.

The first year I was married we had all of our shopping done in October, and it was GREAT! I’ve tried to do it again each year since then, but somehow it just doesn’t end up happening. Certain people are too hard to shop for.

It’s December 16 and I’ve not managed to buy anything for anyone. Thankfully I’m well versed in last minute shopping (not to mention fairly proficient at online shopping)

Procrastination is where you wait til an hour before the shops close on Christmas Eve. I’m sensible and do all my christmas shopping in the morning of Christmas Eve :)

We are all guilty of this. Wehen I came across your post I had been doing exactly that. I have spent a good few hours this morning thinking about my strategy for the coming year and what I would implement on my blog. I guess one of my resolutions this year is to spend less time thinking and actually acting on my thoughts.

I think that a lot of people procrastinate. The malls are packed with them this time of year. I like to shop early because I prefer to do so online and I have to leave shipping time. It is too crazy for me out at the stores. Good luck!

I think that this time of year with all the little extra things that we have to get done it becomes very easy to slip into procrastinating. The holidays can become a bit overwhelming if you don’t keep things in perspective!
