Going on Vacation This Weekend!

12:16 pm Random Thoughts

Bear Lake Sailboat by froggirl, FlickrWell, thankfully it’s time for another vacation this coming weekend.  Every year my wife’s family goes up to Bear Lake, Utah for a weekend, and it just so happens that this year we’re going over the 4th of July weekend.  I’m hoping that there will be some sweet fireworks over the lake or something like that.

If you’ve never been to Bear Lake it’s pretty cool.  It’s a lake that is part in Utah, part in Idaho.  And the really neat thing about it is the color of blue that it is.  Most lakes in Utah are kind of a dirty green color, but for some reason Bear Lake has a really nice blue color to it, almost like the ocean…but not salty!

This year should be interesting because now we have 2 kids.  It was interesting with 1…I guess we’ll see how it goes!

One thing kids love in the summer: water!

I grew up camping around lakes, oceans, and rivers. Somehow, when you’re young, you’re just drawn to activities in and around water. Or at least I was.

Just make sure your family stays safe, and wear lots of a sunblock. I can’t tell you how insanely strong the UV is around where I live. The cool sea breeze fools you into thinking everything’s alright.. then it’s 10 days of painful showers embarrassing redness!!

Wow! Going on a trip with kids will surely lose your energy and you need lots of patience. But it can bring you laughter and great moments that your kids will treasure for the rest of their lives.

Kids are a blessing, but can become a real problem when you have to deal with situation like this. I don’t have kids of my own but I’m uncle and after I’ve watched my nephews I don’t know if I’m ready for this :)

I know what you mean! But when they’re your own kids it’s quite different.
