Getting Anxious For Spring to Arrive…

8:34 am Random Gripings

I have to admit that I’m officially to the point where I’m getting sick of winter and want Spring to come. I think I mentioned before that I tend to go through this cycle each year where for the first few weeks of a season I love it, then I’m ready for it to be over. Well I hit that point with Winter about 2 weeks ago.

I think the turning point for me this year was the insane blizzard that we had last week that knocked our power out for 8 hours. I know that only having the power out for that long is short compared to other outages that have happened around the country, but it was enough for me to think “OK, time for Spring!”

I can also say that I think I enjoyed winter a lot more when I used to go skiing a lot. Honestly I think it’s been 4 years since I went skiing. Too bad too cause I really love to go skiing. But since I now have 2 kids and a lot of other things going on I just don’t seem to find the time to go. I know I know…priorities right? Maybe next year I’ll make skiing a priority again!

I am getting sick of winter too. Just last night here where I live the temperature dropped all the way down to sixteen degrees below zero. When I got up this morning and tried to look out the window it was totally iced over. I am ready for spring!

I spend only a few weeks per year in the wintry Massachusetts but I really have to plan for it. I think the snow is beautiful especially when it’s on the trees and light shines through but the cold rain, the dry air and yes blizzards are hard to tolerate.

Hang in there only a few more weeks to go.

I’m the same. Then when spring comes along I wish it was summer. When summer comes I wish it was winter.

I agree whole-heartedly, I take a few weeks of winter then want the spring and summer to come. I love to sweat in the summer, it is one of my favorite holidays. Bring on the spring!

I’m feeling just like the rest of you. Spring is one of the best seasons, not too cold or too hot, but just plain beautiful. The problem now though is that the weather is variable that even when spring technically arrives, I’m sure winter and summer will still sneak in there.

I am reading for spring/summer too! I do find that taking part and enjoying winter activities makes it more bearable (sledding, skating, skiing). We try to get out and ‘enjoy’ the cold at least once a week. Embracing it seems to work better than just enduring it.

I’m getting spring fever myself. Can’t wait for it to get here.

In St. Louis, it can’t make up it’s mind whether it’s spring or winter.

Winter is fun and all, but if you have to deal with the rain and cold, it gets a little too much. I have had enough of it as well.

If there were winter where I’m at, I should love it for a month max. I don’t think I can stand cold weathers that long, though.

I just came back from a hockey tournament in Buffalo, NY where there was 20 inches of snow and not a dry day except for when we left. I want spring!
