For the Love of Seafood!
July 31, 2008 1:25 pm Random ObservationsOk, I first have to say that I really really like seafood. The problem is that I live in Utah. We’re pretty far inland, and so sometimes the seafood isn’t the freshest when we eat it here. Still, I love it.
So if I had to pick one of my favorite seafood dishes, I think I would have to go with this bacon-wrapped shrimp alfredo that my wife and I used to get at a restaurant that went out of business. This dish was so incredibly good!
Another really good seafood dish that I had once was some tiger prawns at PF Changs. I don’t remember what all was on it, but it was really good as well. I think it was some kind of a buttery sauce.
I’m honestly not sure what could make these dishes better. I think the bacon-wrapped shrimp would go really good with a steak, or maybe with more of a lemon herb sauce than an alfredo sauce. Ok, now I’m getting hungry!
Actually, if it was in more of a lemon herb sauce it might be a good contender for the Great American Seafood Cook Off. I’ll have to see if I can check this event out to get some really good seafood ideas!
By the way, it’s always a good thing to support domestic seafood. There are a lot of positives to it, such as knowing the source of where it came from, etc. I don’t really have that option here in Utah, so if you live on the coast you’re lucky in that regard!

I have the same problem living in St. Louis. However, I lived in Puerto Nuevo, Mexico for about 18 months a few years ago, and I must say I miss the seafood more than anything.
Puerto Nuevo is a small lobster fishing village on the Baja Peninsula, and the lobster doesn’t get any fresher.

I agree any dishes with shrimp is very good and palatable. Even shrimp alone is very tasty, I like it.

I am hungry and craving some killer seafood now. I live in VA and there is some great seafood around here! But my family lives in Maine and they send down the BEST lobsters!! That alfredo sounds yummy and is something that I am going to have to try out myself!
