First Major Snow Storm for Winter 2008
November 5, 2008 2:10 pm Random Gripings
So Winter is officially on its way. Today we had our first official snow storm here where I live in Utah.
It was bad enough that I had to go about 40 mph all the way in to work (I usually go 75-80 mph on the freeway). The roads were completely covered with snow, and whenever I went through an underpass I’d realize that I wasn’t even close to inside my lane!
I’m honestly not very excited about winter this year. Maybe it would be better if I can possibly find some time go to skiing, but I’m not sure where I’ll find the time to go do that!
Is anyone else out there excited for Winter? Did you get hit with this storm?

I think I’m excited to read your post about winter. Because in my country I’ve never seen any form of snow
We only have rain and summer here in Indonesia. Snow is beautiful in movies. Hope I can see it someday
btw, snow storm sounds dangerous. Is it where the snow smash and break everything?

No, that’s hail. Snow is light and fluffy, but gets very slick on the roads and that’s where the problem comes in.

oh btw, from imdb.com I notice that the new Bond movie is not playing yet there in US. I’m surprised because in Indonesia it starts playing since yesterday. Maybe hollywood affraid the audiences here will get the pirated dvd first before it hits the theatre if it takes too long
have a nice day

I was actually born in Texas and the only thing I remember about snow is they got about an eighth of an inch once and closed down the whole city. But, I was only 5 years old so I don’t really remember it that well!

I have never seen a snow fall as there is no fall in my place. I don’t miss the cold weather but I definitely miss the snow, I think it’s very beautiful! I always get excited in winter and even love to have it.

So where do you live that you don’t get any snow?

I dealt with snow and ice for the first 23 years of my life. Haven’t seen much in the last 8 years though, since I’ve lived in Florida and California. Can’t say I miss the snow and black-ice much.
BTW, I love that picture.

so where did you live that you had so much snow?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that.
I lived in West Virginia, so there was plenty of snow each winter.

Oh cool. I have to admit, I think I could use a break for the snow for a while. But then I’d have to put up with hurricanes! I think I’ll take the snow…

Hey Dan,
I got hit by that snow storm too. I don’t know what part of Utah you live in, but I’m in the Provo area. I work in American Fork, and let me tell you, the whole way to work was about 5 miles an hour! I think someone wrecked (probably one of “those” people, that still think they can drive 90mph in the snow). I hope it won’t be this bad all winter! I love the snow, but I hate driving in it.

I live in the same area actually, so it definitely was the same storm! Glad you made it through safely!
