Firework Stands!
July 2, 2008 6:50 am Random Observations
So I find it kinda crazy how every year around this time all these little stands show up to sell fireworks. I think the thing that I wonder the most is, “Who are these people that do these stands? Is this their only business and does it pay them enough to not have to work the rest of the year?”
I have to admit, that would be a pretty sweet deal if that’s the only thing that they did all year. I have a hard time believing that’s the case, but wouldn’t that be great? Only working for a few weeks before the 4th of July (and the 24th here in Utah, we do a lot of fireworks for Pioneer Day)?
Honestly though, I haven’t bought fireworks in years. The last couple of years we’ve always done our 4th celebrations at another family member’s house, and they have provided the fireworks. This year I’ll be on vacation at that time and I really don’t want to lug fireworks around. But they sure are fun to watch!

Yep, fireworks are really amazing. I’d advise you to visit Moscow in their Victory Day - that’s really worth to take a look

I haven’t purchased serious fireworks in years, just a couple bottle rocks and sparklers, but thats because we live in the city limits.
Whoever runs those tents, I bet they make great money.

In Bucharest we recently had a 3 day festival of pirotechnics, 3 nights of showing off from the best companies on this market.
Was really spectacular.

We have a great fireworks show here. The only problem is we can cross the border about 10minutes away and get nice stuff but they setup stings right over the border to catch you with illegal fireworks.

I disagree with Valeri. I think that it is worth its weight now matter how much it costs. Being one up on the next guy always has a price tag, but truthfully, its invaluable. Well put, btw.

Yep, you can make a lot of money selling fireworks at firework stands! I know somebody who used to run one and they made a few thousand dollars in just a matter of days. Now, if you’re doing it to make a living, you better be operating several firework stands spread out over the state. If you do that, you’ll have to hire people to run them for ya, which is no big deal via cheap contracted labor.
