Eating the Same Thing Every Day

10:52 am Food

eggs by sir chalky, Flickr.comDo you ever find yourself just eating the same thing all the time?  I’m finding I’m in one of those ruts where I really don’t have much variety in my diet.  Here’s a sample:

  • Eggs, Toast, and Cereal
  • Oatmeal, Hard-boiled Eggs, Banana
  • Hamburger Patty with either rice or bread plus salad
  • Some type of sandwich
  • Whatever my wife makes for dinner ;-)
  • Egg Sandwich or Cereal

I need some variety!!!  Granted, right now I’m just tying to eat enough to add a little more meat to my skinny frame, but I could still use some variety.  Any ideas???

Get a crockpot and make some easy dishes that will be ready by dinner… I like throwing in a bunch of stuff for a stew in the morning and it’s ready when I get home.

Well since you have a tendency to eat the same things why not try using potatoes. You can make french fries, potato salad, hash browns or even garlic potatoes. You can make it several different ways so you really don’t have to put too much thought into it.

Eating the same thing every day? On this blog post, it gave an example for one day:
    Eggs, Toast, and Cereal

    Oatmeal, Hard-boiled Eggs, Banana

Hamburger Patty with either rice or bread plus salad

    Some type of sandwich

Whatever my wife makes for dinner ;-)

    Egg Sandwich or Cereal

I mean, holy crap! That is like 3 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 2 dinners! That is 6 meals a day! Dang, I usually only eat 3 meals (2 small and 1 big meal) a day, but then again, I have a healthy diet of liquid bread (beer), to top it off… Ha-ha!

I know what you mean. I do the same, day in and day out. I usually eat pasta, yogurt, a sandwich and salad. These are pretty much my staples.

Ah yes, I also eat a lot of cereal because it is quick to grab. I hate cooking and my wife works all day so no chance of getting fed.

The main thing that stops most people from experimenting with new recipes is because they think they’ve not got enough time to try something new. Rubbish!

There are lots of really yummy meals that you can make quickly and easily with very basic ingredients. Pull out those cook books that everyone has stashed away and pick out something different to try. You just have to get motivated!

I have also that kind of experience this week. My solution, i always ask my mom to cook a variety of quick to cook food. Then she did it, a quick to cook kind of food but surely a different recipe everyday. If i were you try to search for a recipe of food that have the same nutrients that your usual food have. You can have a cook book for a guide or try to research on the net, surely there are many recipe website out there!Be resourceful & creative. So you can have a variety of food.

Maybe you are not a food addict and just like to get over with it by eating same food daily. Is that so?

You should try and eat those foods that you like the most. This way you might gain some weight hopefully.

Might be a good time to break out the vegetables. We all need more, there are many kinds, and that means so many combinations to try that it would take a long time to get bored! (Vegetables won’t make you fat, but fat is very overrated.) :)

I know that eating more red meats and carbs can help you bulk up some. Just make sure you do it all the healthy way.

I’ve heard though that eating the same thing every day is actually good for you. I guess your body learns to digest it well or something.

It is easy to fall into a rut. I like to look at recipe sites to get an idea of something different that is easy to make.

there are just things in life that you can’t resist.so if you enjoy eating one type of food and you don’t get bored with the idea then i really don’t see a problem.i tend to go with something for a while and then move on to something else.
