Another Cool Thing About Quinoa

9:46 am Food

Quinoa Tabouli by Églantine, FlickrSo a while back I wrote about the food quinoa.  Since then I’ve had it a couple of times and its really quite good!

The cool thing about quinoa is that it goes with anything.  You can just eat it plain and its good, or even better you can mix it in with stuff and it tastes good as well!

For example, yesterday I mixed it in with some fettucini alfredo.  It was good!  Then, I was going to have a tuna sandwich after going to the gym, but I forgot to bring the bread.  So I just mixed quinoa in with the tuna and it was really good that way!

Gotta love these foods that go good with everything!

Dang, I still have to try it. I don’t know about the alfredo sauce, I need to add quinoa to LOSE weight, not gain it. I need to find some good lowfat vegetarian recipes I can use it in and then get to the health food store and pick some up!

It doesn’t sound like it will be hard at all to find good recipes that would be great supplemented and/or combined with Quinoa. It’s a shame that more people haven’t heard about this flexible, versatile, healthy food source. Have fun in the kitchen and get to cooking… ;)

Quinoa looks very much like couscous, and couscous is something that works with everything. What i love the most is a couscous salad, it tastes great with balsamic vinegar.

    Give it a try
