Movies, TV and Music

I watched a lot of movies over the weekend, and I have to say that the best one that I saw was Traitor starring Don Cheadle and Guy Pierce.
This is one of those movies that sorta keeps you wondering all along what is really going on. I remember at some points I thought I knew, but then there was a twist that would change my mind. But even after I figured it out, it was a really really good movie. I highly recommend this one to anyone, just a great show to watch!
Here’s a quick review of some of the other movies I saw over the weekend:
- Mama Mia: LAME
- Eagle Eye: pretty good, but nothing really surprising
- The Mummy - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor: ok, but just a one timer.
Anyway, that’s what I did for part of this weekend. How about you?

It’s sad really, but way too many people are in way too much debt. Companies are in too much debt, the country is in too much debt…everything is in too much debt it seems!
So if you’re sitting there thinking about debt all the time, it’s time to figure out a way to get out of it. In the last couple of years my wife and I have really been attacking our debt, and one of the main ways we did it was to just cut back in certain areas and pump more money towards paying off that debt. It takes discipline, but it’s so worth it.
Seriously, think about what your life would be like without all that debt. I think about it every now and then and it’s great to think that as soon as I pay off my car I’ll have another $300 or so a month that I can use for other things! I’ll be able to have less stress at work because I won’t have so much I have to pay, etc.
Thankfully there are a lot of companies out there that can help you to get out of debt and to Avoid Bankruptcy. In my mind that should be the last option, so always explore what your other options are before going for that one.

So what ever happened to the idea of global warming? Not that I ever really believed in it anyway, but doesn’t the weather lately remind you of that dumb movie “The Day After Tomorrow”?
I don’t know about you but we just had 12 inches dumped on us over the last 36 hours or so. Last night I got stuck once I got into my complex and had to have 3 guys help me push my car out. Then I spent the next hour or so helping other people get unstuck or clearing out parking spaces. It’s been crazy!
One thing for sure though is that it now feels a lot more like Christmas since we now have snow. It will actually be a white Christmas! It seems like most of the last couple of years have been brown Christmases, so this should be nice.
Be safe everyone!

Bloggled, a blog backup service, is running a contest that looks to be pretty cool. And the prize? A free iPod touch or Cricut machine. You can guess which one would be my preference
Bloggled is a simple service that allows bloggers to backup their personal or business blogs for free. And right now they’re just trying to get the word out about what they do, hence the contest.
So really, if you have a blog you should check these guys out. Can you imagine how frustrating it would be if you lost all of the info on your blog because you forgot to back it up? That would be one frustrating day that’s for sure!
The contest is today only, and they’ll be giving away prizes every 2 hours. So hurry and enter the contest!

It’s official, I’m a procrastinator! Here it is December 12th and I still haven’t bought any presents for my wife!
The other problem is that for other members of the family we are doing more of a homemade Christmas and I haven’t made those items yet. Frankly, I’m running out of time!
Thankfully my wife finally got me a list of things to look at getting for her. I struggle without a list honestly. Then I at least have an idea of the type of stuff she would want. There have been some years in our 6 years of marriage that I have really failed when it comes to gift giving, and I’m hoping not to repeat that again!
I remember one year we had all of our shopping done in October. Man that was great. I should really get back into that habit!

So all this snow and talk about the weather and what not has gotten me thinking about the outdoors. It’s actually weird to admit, but I haven’t been camping or hiking in a long long time, although I’d definitely like to.
One thing’s for sure - if you’re going to be outdoors a lot you need to make sure that you have the right gear. That’s where stores like SierraAdventureGear.com come in handy! If you’re into being outdoors and want to get a good deal on all the latest stuff, you should check out their site.
Have you seen these really cool watches made by Luminox? These are some really sweet watches if you ask me! Here’s a quick quote from SierraAdventureGear.com that explains a little bit more about these watches better than I could:
The Luminox self-powered illumination–Luminox Light Technology (LLT) allows one to view time-at-a-glance, no matter what the light level, even in complete darkness. Each Luminox watch employs tiny self-powered micro gas lights developed by the world leader in the luminous compound industry. These micro gas lights are installed into the hands, hour markers, and when necessary, bezels of our watches. The Luminox Watch is the ultimate Swiss self-powered illumination system.
The Swiss really know how to make some sweet watches! I had a Swiss watch for years actually, then the battery died and I never got it replaced. But still, it was a great watch!

So we’re finally starting to get some snow here in the valleys of Utah. It’s a little because normally by now we’ve had several good storms but for some reason this year it just hasn’t been happening.
So how’s the snow or weather in your part of the world? I have to admit, when it first starts snowing I really like it, maybe just for the change of season or something like that. Then, by mid February after I’ve slipped and fallen on my butt a few times I’m tired of it. It’s amazing how things like that will change your mind about something
.
The other reason that I’m glad that we’re finally getting some snow is that it actually helps me feel like it’s actually getting to be Christmas time! I struggle feeling Christmasy until I see snow. Don’t know why, but I’ve always been that way.
So for those of you that have snow, be safe!

Does anyone else think that pearls are just cool? I mean diamonds are nice and all, but when you think about the way pearls look and how they’re made, you have to admit that they are pretty unique. A few years ago we bought my wife a pearl ring and she wears it all of the time!
So when you’re thinking of gifts to buy for your wife or girlfriend, what about pearls? They’re unique, and they make a great Christmas present! Especially black pearls!
If you’re into pearls or want to consider them for a Christmas gift, you should check out the site ThePearlOutlet.com. They have a very large selection of all sorts of pearl products including Tahitian pearls, freshwater pearls, pearl necklaces, pearl earrings, and more!
They also have a lot of really interesting information about the differences between the different types of pearls, how the pearls are farmed, and other interesting stuff. Read more on their Pearl Basics page.
Overall I have to say that I’m really impressed with this site. They give a lot of good information about pearls and have some really beautiful settings for them. You can even choose from different clasps!
So get your wife or girlfriend something really unique this Christmas…a quality piece of pearl jewelry from ThePearlOutlet.com!
