WALL-E is a Great Movie!

This weekend my wife and I finally got to see the Disney/Pixar movie WALL-E.  Honestly, I loved it!  This is one of the few movies in a long time that after seeing it I really just wanted to own it.

So what is it about this movie that’s so great?  It’s just a cute cute show!  Seriously, they did a really great job on this one.  It’s really cute, it’s just a clever as anything else that Pixar has done, and will have you laughing.

The other great thing about it is that the dialogue is simple enough that kids can follow it and basically get what’s going on.

Seriously, if you haven’t seen this movie I highly highly recommend it.  As far as Pixar movies, it definitely falls into the top 3.  I can’t decide yet if I like it better than The Incredibles, but it’s pretty darn close!

Christmas is On It’s Way - Where’s the Music?

I may have blogged about this last year, but have you noticed that in recent years you start to hear Christmas music earlier and earlier in the season?  It seems like last year I was hearing it in late October!

This year though I haven’t noticed it as much.  Not sure why though… are we all becoming a bunch of scrooges or something?

So when is it too early to start playing Christmas music?  Personally, I prefer to not start playing it until after Thanksgiving.  I think this is out of respect for Thanksgiving since it kind of gets over looked in that sense.  Speaking of which, is there such a thing as a Thanksgiving song?  There are lots of Halloween songs and Christmas songs, but are there any for Thanksgiving?

Now I do have to admit that on Nov 1 I got in my wife’s car and one of her preset radio stations was already playing Christmas music.  It caught me by surprise!  But it doesn’t seem as prevalent this year.  Not sure why…

Holiday Glasses!

To a lot of people glasses are just another accessory that you can use to enhance your style.  In fact, I remember I had a roommate that had a fake pair of glasses that he would wear at times.  What can I say, he was a little more into fashion than most guys I know.

But I know that there are a lot of people out there that will have different frames that they can use to fit their outfit, but when you think about it that can get pretty expensive pretty quick!

Utah’s Rivalry Week - And I Don’t Really Care!

Here in Utah it’s the week of the big rivalry between the two big local universities, the University of Utah and Brigham Young University.  Some even call it the ‘Holy War’ of the state, and every year a lot of people get all pumped up about it.

I have to admit, I’ve never really gotten into it.  I mean, I guess in a sense I’m a BYU fan, but just because they’re closer to me and I grew up here.  But honestly in the end I don’t really care.

The funny thing is that I used to actually go to BYU, but dropped out and decided to go to a different college instead.  So maybe I should become a Ute fan just to be the rebel in my family .  I’ll have to think more aobut that one.

Even in the office where I work there are some fans that are die-hard both ways.  And they all make their jabs at each other which does make it pretty fun.  I just don’t know why, but I’ve never really been able to get into it.

Now that I think about it, I’ve never really ever gotten really into any sport!  I mean, I used to play soccer when I was a kid until I almost tore my ACL, but then never played anything seriously again.  Does that make me a strange guy that I’m not fanatical about any sports?

What’s crazy is that I have a brother who really isn’t athletic at all, and yet he is always talking about the BYU team and what they could be doing better etc.  Maybe that’s one of the things that bugs me about sports fanaticism, you have all these guys sitting around debating how their team could be better, etc., and yet they don’t play themselves!  I watch merely for the entertainment aspect, but that’s about it.  Seriously…does that make me a weird guy???

Unnaturally Warm in November

Honestly, I’m loving the weather here lately.  And I’m lovin it!  Normally by this time of the year it is quite a bit cooler, but we’ve been in the 50s and it’s been really quite nice.

Ha, maybe it’s global warming or something .  Has anyone noticed that the news seems to have backed off that topic in the last couple of months.  Thank goodness!

Anyway, how is the weather where you live?  Has winter settled in yet?  It’s crazy, but I’ll bet that it’s just the calm before the storm.  Give it another week or so and I’m sure that the winter storms will come raging in and make their stay for a while.  i guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

You Really Do Need to Have a Good Host!

I know I’ve blogged about this before, but in the last week or two I’ve really had it confirmed that you really really need to have a good web host!

I have a client that I was working with that signed up for hosting with a company I won’t name right now.  This was the most confusing hosting platform that I’ve ever seen!  All I was trying to do was help her to set up a blog, and there was no easy way to do it!  In the end the only way we found was to use their own version of WordPress, which had limited functionality!  Talk about messed up!

I immediately had her switch hosts, and things are starting to work out a whole lot better since then.

So seriously, make sure you check out the different hosts out there before you just sign up for somebody.  Unfortunately, I think that’s what this lady did.  She just picked one because they had a good domain name deal.

This is just one example of why it’s good to check out sites with web hosting reviews before you just go sign up because of a good domain name price. There is so much more to it than just a domain name!

I Don’t Like Rainy Mondays!

As if Monday wasn’t bad enough…today is all rainy and dark outside. I mean seriously, of all days that could be rainy, I think Monday has to be the worst.

It’s weird because I’m not usually an anti-Monday sort of guy, but today I definitely am.  Maybe I just need to exercise and that will help.

Has anyone else found that just by exercising they just feel emotionally better?  I was really stressed for the past week or so, but on the days that I worked out I felt a whole lot better.  Now this doesn’t really come as a surprise to me, but it’s a good reassurance from time to time that exercise is good for me.

So is anyone else having a depressing Monday?  Or is it sunny everywhere else but here?
