I blogged about this contest awhile back, and it looks like they have finally narrowed it down to the top 10 finalists.
Some of the videos and pictures are pretty good, and honestly it would be really hard for me to choose the one that I really like the best, so I think I’ll go with the cute factor. There was one video that had a little girl reading a poem using some big words. But it was totally cute, so for a cuteness factor that one gets my vote.
Or, if you want to go for the sympathy factor there are a couple that fall into that category. Either way, some people got really creative with this thing, so it’s kinda fun to go watch some of the videos and see some of the pictures.
For those of you that don’t know about this contest, Renuzit is offering a $20,000 home makeover to the winner with Tanya Memme. You can do quite the makeover for $20k, so it’s a pretty cool deal.
So here’s what you do: head over to the semi-finalist gallery and take a look at the different entries. Then place your vote! This is a cool idea, so check it out.

Ok, I think that they might be technically called ‘chime balls’ or something like that. But either way I think they’re awesome! I remember when I first saw these things I really didn’t understand what they were for. In fact, I remember as a kid just holding one in each hand and listening to them make all sorts of noise. I thought they were pretty cool…
Lately I’ve been using these in one hand as I’m talking to a client. And they really are relaxing to use. I’ve even heard that they can help with carpal tunnel as well, and with as much as I’m on the computer that’s a good thing.
Now here’s my big question on these things: is it better to rotate them so the balls don’t touch, or just let them rub together as you turn them in your hand? I usually just let them rub together, but I’ve always wondered about that.
If anyone knows the answer, feel free to share.
Maybe they have different levels of difficulty or something. Maybe if I can do it as fast without touching as I can with them touching I’ll automatically become some sort of zen master! Ok, probably not…

I think that in one way or another a lot of us would like to have a nicer looking place to live. Just this morning I was looking around at my front room and thought, “Man, this place is a mess!” But have you noticed that when a place is new or you have new things you tend to treat the room better?
Well, what if the rooms in your house always looked nice because you had some good decor in them? I think it would be great, but I hate shelling out the money for it. That’s where companies like Upside Living come in.
These guys have all sorts of cool stuff. They have nice stuff for the home, garden, and even some great ideas for luxury gifts. Maybe I should get my wife her gift from this site. She’s has done some home decor work before and like things like area rugs and they have some pretty cool ones on this site.
So if you need to spruce up the look of your humble abode, this is one site you’ll want to check out if you’re looking for really good looking, quality, upside stuff. Check it out sometime!

A week or two ago I wrote that my baby had slept through the night. Well, it turns out that was a fluke. But now he’s sleeping through the night much more consistently!
It’s amazing how much sleep really affects you, and I’ve found that I don’t really appreciate that until I don’t get as much! It’s true what they say that the first 3 months of having a new baby are the hardest. After that you get more sleep so you can better deal with everything else!
He’s a cute little guy though. Very smiley and happy, which also makes things a lot easier.
So anyway, that’s the baby update for today!

No, not the movie…that was kinda lame. But the actual tennis tournament itself would be really cool to do go. I’d love to get some Wimbledon tennis tickets!
Maybe I’m weird, but I’m a guy that really enjoys watching tennis. I don’t know when it started, but at some point in my life I got bored with watching the usual US sports of basketball and football (I was never a watcher of baseball) and got more interested in things like tennis. I just think it’s a fun sport to watch.
But to go to Wimbledon would be a very cool experience. For one, its in the UK so that alone makes it cool. The other cool thing about Wimbledon is the layout. You have all these different tennis courts that you can go to and see the pros in action.
If you haven’t watched much tennis before, you should give it a try. Watch the guys, I think that they are the best simply because the game seems more aggressive. It’s like watching the NBA vs. the WNBA, they both have their high points but the men are just so much more aggressive that it makes it more interesting to watch.
Anyway, those are my thoughts on Wimbledon. Random I know, but that’s the point of this blog. Wimbledon 2008 runs from June 23-July 6.

I mentioned yesterday that I’m glad to be going back to the gym. Well, one of the hard parts of going back to the gym after not going for awhile is you tend to get really sore the next day!
For example, yesterday I did some hang clean and presses and my shoulders are very very sore today. But you know what they say about working out, no pain no gain. This kind of pain is good. Now of course bad pain doesn’t mean not gain…that means you might have injured something. So don’t take that quote too literally…
Last week I had a similar experience after doing squats. I was sorta gimpy for about 2-3 days. Gotta love it!
All I can say is that if you aren’t going to the gym because you’re afraid of the soreness, get rid of that excuse! The more you work out the less sore you tend to get because you get used to it. So get out there and get some exercise! Make sure to pick up some muscle building supplements to help you in your goals while you’re at it!

Ok, so this coming Sunday is Mother’s Day and I’m still not entirely sure of what to get for my wife. I know that she’s not into jewelry, and she likes flowers but my problem with flowers is that they just die.
So I had an idea. What if I got her some new shoes? Don’t all girls/women like shoes? I’ll have to think about this one…
Well, if you think it’s a good idea for you as well, you can always check out Infinity Shoes. They carry a bunch of brands (granted, most of them I’ve never heard of because I don’t buy women’s shoes ever) that are apparently pretty big like tsubo shoes, minnetonka boots, and seychelles shoes. For you women reading this blog right now maybe you can give me an idea of which ones would be the best for my wife.
The other nice thing about Infinity Shoes which made me want to write about them is that they give plenty of good gift ideas. Great selection, great ideas, not a bad combo when you need some gift ideas for a birthday or holiday!
Honestly, if I had to choose a pair for my wife right now I’d go with black Relay Tours. They are more sporty and my wife is a bit of a tom-boy.

Remember back in high school and grade school, you’d go to school for most of the year but then there was that wonderful time of year called “Summer Vacation.” I know that I don’t ever want to go back to high school, but that is one thing that I miss from time to time.
Wouldn’t it be great if as adults we could have a summer vacation? Granted, now as adults we all have responsibilities and such that make this a little difficult, but wouldn’t it be cool if we could do something like that?
Maybe that could be the platform for the next presidential election. “I promise summer vacation for everyone!” the candidate would say, followed by cheers and applause….ok, maybe not. But I can always dream can’t I?

I have to say, I think that VistaPrint is really cool. I remember a couple of years ago I picked up some free business cards from them and was actually quite impressed. I think we might have even done some regular ones through them that my wife designed once upon a time too.
Well, another service that they have is custom sticky notes. Talk about cool! I’d love to have a little stack of sticky notes with my company logo on it. But then again, I guess first I’d have to come up with a cool logo. First things first right?
Anyway, I think that this is a really cool idea for any business. It’s a good, fun way to do some branding. As with anything VistaPrint does they have a lot of pre-designed templates you can choose from or you can design your own.
With all the things that VistaPrint offers, they really are a one stop shop for all your business printing needs. So if you have your own business or are looking to start one, you should definitely consider this company to help you handle things like sticky notes, business cards, door magnets, and anything else you’d need. Try them out!

I know I already wrote about this recently, but it’s so good to be working out again! Things were so crazy for awhile there that I wasn’t able to do it. I seriously forgot how much I used to enjoy working out, and now that I’m going again I’m quickly remembering!
My goal for this summer is actually to try and bulk up a little bit. You see, I’ve always been one of the skinny guys, ‘ectomorph’ for those of you that know the term. So sometime in my life I think I’d like to stop being just the bean pole. Maybe this is the summer that I make something happen!
Hopefully my wife and I will also be able to get some roller blades soon and I’ll be able to do that from time to time as a cardio workout. To be honest, I’m really looking forward to this summer!
