Over the weekend my wife and I finally went on a date just by ourselves! This is the first time we’ve done this since before the baby was born, so it’s been about 3 months. So for our date we went and saw the new Jackie Chan/Jet Li movie “The Forbidden Kingdom.”
I really liked this movie! It’s just a fun martial arts film that never takes itself too seriously. In fact, it’s really quite funny when you listen to some of the things that they say. And, there are some really great fight sequences. The once between Chan and Li is really good. It amazes me how well those guys can move, especially when you think about how old they’re getting!
The other really cool thing about this show is that in the end I think that Jet Li was funnier than Jackie Chan, which is something that I never would have expected. I haven’t seen a lot of Jet Li movies, but I’ve never seen him laugh like he does in this movie.
Anyway, I would recommend seeing this film if you’re looking for just a fun movie to go see. Great choreography in the fights, and its funny.

Ok, before I write this post I have to be honest and say that I’ve never actually gone hunting. Something about sitting around and just waiting for a deer to come near so I can kill it just never seemed appealing to me. But I totally understand that people can enjoy it.
So I came across this site HRBizMall.com that sells outdoor, fishing and hunting supplies and man, animals just don’t stand a chance anymore. Not that they ever really did, but now it’s getting even easier it seems to have a good hunting experience. These guys have all sorts of great stuff like deer feeders, hunting blinds, and other things to make your hunting experience a success. So if you’re a hunter, check it out!

I went over on my cell phone minutes again this month! I really wish that there was a better way to handle the whole cell phone thing, cause man do they slap you when you go over!
My big problem right now is that we don’t use a home phone. We just use our cells for everything and so far it’s worked out really well. But lately my wife has had to make a lot of calls to doctors offices and places like that. And you know what that means…they put you on hold forever!
I’m starting to wonder if the doctor’s offices and cell phone companies and in cahoots with each other…maybe when you call in on a cell phone they purposefully put you on hold just so they can collect on the overage you have to pay for your minutes. Ok probably not, but it makes you wonder sometimes!

Alright, let’s be honest. How many of you actually started your blog to make some money? I admit, I’ve started several blogs for that reason and this blog is no exception.
One way to make money with your blog is by doing paid blogging. There are a bunch of sites that you can use to do this, but a new one that has come out on the scene is called SocialSpark.
SocialSpark is a little different than a lot of the other paid blogging sites out there. They are also a community site that you can use to make friends and thus drive additional traffic to your site/blog as well! This is one of the more unique things that I like about SocialSpark.
Another great bonus for SocialSpark is their code of ethics. This keeps the whole paid posting thing out in the open for everyone, which I know a lot of people like. Personally, as long as the post can relate to the content of a site I don’t mind if it’s paid for, but I know some disagree with me on that. Anyway, here’s their code of ethics, just another thing that sets them apart:
-100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure
-100% Transparency
-100% Real Opinions
-100% Search Engine Friendly
Personally I think that this code applies most to the advertisers themselves, and I think its a good thing in the long run.
So in the end, I think that SocialSpark is looking to be a good program. Check it out and see what kind of money you can make with them!

Before I start into this you should probably know that I am not a believer in the whole global warming scare. I think that most of it is just hype and baloney to help guys like Al Gore make extra money. But I found this to be really really funny. I heard about it on Glenn Beck last week, but someone came up with a list of all the things that global warming has been linked to. Not only does it mention them, but it has a reference to the article that it came from as well.
Here’s the list: A complete list of things caused by global warming.
Here are some of my favorites off the list:
- Atlantic less salty
- Atlantic more salty (contradiction???)
- cougar attacks
- crocodile sex
- fashion disaster
- Loch Ness monster dead
- and countless others
So if you want a good laugh at all the hype surrounding global warming, check out the list!

I’m not a big fan of going into debt, but in today’s society it seems like you have to carry a little bit of debt if you ever want to be able to get a home or car loan. So if you’re the type of person that has no credit, what can you do to get it started?
Well, something that I’ve always been told is to just get a simple credit card, use it to pay a few bills, and then just make sure that you pay off the balance every month. This way you can build up a credit history so that you can get those bigger loans down the road. Just don’t give into the temptation to use it for debt and you’ll be good.
So if you’re looking to get your first credit card, check this site for a bunch of offers and deals: credit-card-analyzer.com. On this site you can compare offers from different companies, different cards from the same company, and see the different types of cards that are available. With all the different options out there these days it’s nice to have a resource like this that you can turn to.
This site is especially useful if you’re just getting started with your credit. They compare the different cards for you and tell you which ones are the best for different circumstances. So check it out!

So the other day I was just thinking about random things, and an idea popped into my head that I had never really thought of before: How noisy is the sun?
Think about it…the sun is basically a big explosion going on all the time, so does it make some kind of a giant noise all the time or is it eerily quiet?
Well, being that I am not very scientifically gifted, I decided to pose the question to my brother who is a chemist and teaches at the local university. The answer is that unless you are inside the sun you wouldn’t hear a thing. This is because in space there is no sound; there is no medium for the sound to travel through. So in order to hear the sound of the sun you’d have to be inside of it.
So there is your random science pondering for today. Some of you who are more scientifically inclined might be saying “Well duh!” to this, but I personally never enjoyed science classes in school. Unless we were blowing stuff up…

I’ve never been much of a gun person, but I respect those who are good with a gun! Actually, my brother-in-law bought a gun a week or two ago and I might got shooting with him sometime, could be fun!
So here’s a little bonus for you gun people. Right now LA Police Gear is giving away a free mug when you buy a Galco holster! So not only do you get a great holster, but you also get a really cool mug that you can keep on your desk or use for your nightly cup of hot chocolate (or whatever it is you drink
).

Ok, this is a little bit of a gripe. I hate yawning. Whenever I get in one of those spells where I just can’t stop yawning I get really annoyed. Does anyone else agree with me on this one? I mean it has to be one of the most annoying things in the world. You may not even feel tired or anything but your body decides that it’s time to open your most really wide and breathe funny. I’m getting annoyed just talking about it…
Does anyone really know what causes yawns? I don’t think I’ve ever heard a good explanation of it, at least one that really made sense. And what’s with them being contagious? I actually saw a Myth Busters episode about it once, and if I remember right they proved that it wasn’t actually contagious.
I better stop talking about this before I curse myself into a yawning fit…

So the other day my wife had to have an Endoscopy done so we could find out why she’s still having some abdominal pains. An endoscopy is where they put you under, then shove a tiny camera down your throat to take a look at your stomach and small intestines. The good news is that they found out what the problem is and my wife was so excited to find out that she has a ulcer!
I’m serious when I say she was excited. She was excited because now she finally knows what’s going on. It’s now a joke at home that I never thought anyone could be excited to have an ulcer!
So this whole ordeal again confirms that I never want to have to go to the hospital for myself. It also confirms that I don’t think I would be cut out to be a good doctor. We saw the pictures that they took, and honestly it’s not a pretty picture. Not my type of thing…
